I think the issue is what people rate as spam..

Personally, I rate spam as being any of the following:

-) Repeating the same line of text, or a single word more than twice a minute.. (Advertising is different to some extent)

-) Talking about real world issues including game bugs etc (unless prefixed with ooc:)..

-) Having a conversation with one person.. (use DM dammit.. or Team for several)

-) Screaming abuse..

Some people don't give a shit that their conversation is filling up the com window of hundreds of people. I personally like to be able to read my DM/Clan/Team/Buddy/Local windows without having to scroll up because some lame-ass is talking about getting a new PC to his mate.. OVER FACTION?!?!

Why don't I mute faction? Well, sometimes I do.. but othertimes it's useful. Someone may promote that they're trading.. or even rally people together for a meeting. But it needs to be kept free for such USEFUL messages. Why can't people just have some common sense?

tho somewhat in agreement, I presonaly like faction chat as base to get to know the faction, that means random conversation... if its just directed at one person you already know, the buddy/dm/team suffices, but many many fokes in FA pluto I got to know trough simple faction chat.

But as I said, I'm somewhat in agreement, as on pluto there wasn't enough people to make faction chat REALLY annoying, with terra there is, and I doubt I want to get to know ALL of the terra FA anyawyz

typing OOC: all the time isn't my thing either, if I wanna talk ooc for a while I use ../ooc mode otherwise I sporadicly use OOC or not, sorry zane

But you should remember that from our days long past.

So... at its current state, faction chat is no longer possible the way we like it... It would be a good idea for reakktor to make 2 faction chats - one for random chitchat and one for official matters... Till then, Killer is probably right, though I totaly hate TS - it takes away all Roleplay.

Well... I'm not to worried none the less, as most of my time I want to go into my new girlfriend atm

so I'm not stuck with all the lameness much yet *big brin*

in clan well in phoenix i always try to roleplay and do the ooc thing.. but on faction with all the other people talking i ain't unless we'r in an event or something.. and when we'r just having a meeting i always roleplay to..

i aint always on TS don't like playing with the headset on all the time.. and r2k are almost 80% german. ( yea zane i know you hate them :wrong:

) but me and the rest of uranus fa kinda pushed them to come to terra.. they were probably gonna leave for the german server but they are all good guys and damn funny to.. whenever there is a war or combat or i'm leveling with them i always join the TS server. can understand most of what they are saying anyway and if i talk to them they talk back english anyway.. but if you put 20 dutch people on ts and add a german i can tell you almost sure they gonna talk dutch and just switch to english if they need to talk to the german there

i'm just on TS to shout now and then "were the hell are we going" and "gimme s/d"

Wow.. these fourms still work! =p WB Zane, its good to have you back! Give it a little time.. im sure some of the rpers will readmerge. Oh, and speaking of ppl being screwed acct wise..

When signing up for click to pay I used someone in scottlands phonenumber, so I wouldnt have to give my SSN. Then Click2pay canceled my acct because they couldnt reach me at that number. </3 them.

lmfao, I used a dutch phone number (duh)

And got an email they called me and had spoken to me on that phone number and that therefore the account was now checked and active...

I never got one call lmfao, infact that phone is always off as its my old prepay phone sitting in a draw withoud batterys :lol:

Well.. there's a few things bugging me.. but then this is Neocron.. it's kinda expected.

I am however extremely happy to see such a high volume of roleplayers. And by that, I don't just mean people who play their character.. but people who don't bitch if you prefix OOC text accordingly

It's also very good to see Phoenix Ltd still running under the more than capable supervision of Brammers.

Which gives me chance to start my second business and make a name for Zane's son

I don't think I'll be running for chairman just yet though

Talking of 2nd businesses, i'm probably going to drop the position of Head of Phoenix Section 2 and go back to Computer Expert, if Husk doesn't mind having all of S2 on his plate

not much difference anyhow, seeing as i'm not ingame yet... but i'm eventually going to be running (Hopefully as a subdivision of Phoenix) Codestreamers, basically a company selling hacked BPs, hacknet software and other good shit.. eventually contract runs
