That's how i'd do it, or as Husk suggested, shutdown -a and then patch it while spamming the -a command

you don't have to spam it, I've had to do it many times on many pc's, never have I had the popup again, and there's a simple reason for this... the RPC is already down, so it can't be shutdown again and cause a reboot

also the worms causing these effects can hardly be called a threat, they damage near to nothing, so a complete format would be overkill, unless you got time aspare or are uncertain

erm i was trying to install the patches but the install program for the patches kept being shut down some how

like...installling, installing.....*poof* gone

Heh, I got most of NC working under Virtual PC in Fedora Core using WineX/Transgaming and all that crap

Anyway, boogle's not ingame much. At all. Ever. Heh

Yes morph, and it's mostly entirely your fault.
If i was ingame, I'd be booglebox, boogle_box or something like that. When I can eventually persuade Morph to at least temporarily pay for my subscription, I'll be on at weekends and during the summer hols. I'll start a topic when i'm on.
