Epic Run Ahoy!

Postby Phayse » Sat Jan 14, 2006 11:30 pm

was wondering how long the average epic run for pro's would take... I plan to do all the epics on Boobchoob - my temporary Private eye. I also intend to do the resistor mission.

Hopefully I can get them done in a weeks worth of evening gaming...

well at 4 hours a mission, you can do all of them in about a day, split up 6 days or 3 if you do 2 a day...

4 hours a mission?

Ok did the pro epics on my APU recently. Average about 1-2 hours per epic if you have the GR's.

The hard bit was raising FS for each faction. To get them from 10 to 50 I did missions - this took me longer than doing the epics!

That is most definately true... unless you have 50 in each each faction straight away, but most likely it was only at 10 - 12 for each faction... I'm guessing that anyway...

They have made the game much more of a timesink with the new faction and soullight rules, not to mention the faction change mission npcs in techhaven.

Well you can no longer use a symp bitch to get FS in other factions now, so yeah it's a bigger timesink. However once you have 50 FS you don't seem to loose it, even when in a hostile faction.

Hmm, I fancy doing an insane project called the 100FS club. Membership open only to people with 100FS in all factions.

Hard and longest way to get 100 FS - Missions.
Easy and expensive way to do this - get a symp bitch (both pro and anti) and change factions. Total cost 3.6 mil, and some time to raise FS with CM by doing missions.

Now the question is, by doing missions would you get 3.6 mil in cash and parts?

Nope - you can only take missions if your FS is above about 10. Othwerwise you are stuck with idling your character to positive FS or those special missions.

Idling does not work, average joe stayed on for three days and it remained -92.

At -92 it will take days to go up one point. The rate you gain FS is a lot slower at -90 than say -30. I suspect the rate is logrithmic.

Got a clanmate who's had -89 FS to FA. He's left it logged in for about 2 weeks, and gained about 20 FS.

I found a way to do it relatively fast.
Spec enough hc and str to bomb a bomber, go to H06 there's two packs of the mobs there, max altitude, bombs away :-)

Far and away the best idea for those missions. Or take a rev. Don't take a rhino - it's an expensive waste of space.

It is however tedium in the extreme. I had to use it on phayse to recover sympathies after KK stiffed me with thier inability to apply correct zonerules. -/

I tried a reveeller - I guess its possible, but I got ripped to shreds. I did bet on the bomber working well, mind. But I seem to recall, if you are under -36 or some number, these new missions are meant to be the only way. Thing is, with the new symp rules, I could kill Fallen Angels all day, then join them at the end of the day... dumb. Still raising up to 50 symp from 10 with missions isnt very hard.
