When's a good time to join a clan?

Just idly wondering when it's a good idea to join a clan. Could ask this on the official forums, but I think I like it better here. I'm kinda scared of getting randomly ganked by one of those PKs who PK newbies. I'm pretty sure the type exists in NC, they've existed everywhere else. You know the type, that can't hack it in real PVP so they one hit kill that newbie.

So yeah, advise would be nice. Personally I haven't been able to play an MMORPG for any length of time without being in a guild or clan, the grind gets to me if it's just me and the mobs.

Also if anyone feels like helping a wee little pistol hacker spy find her feet... I wouldn't mind that at all.

Well we were invited to join Phoenix because it needed more girls apparantly. Um, I think it was that anyway, but I'm known for poor/shoddy memory. Isn't it very hazardous to wander around without an LE when you're still very new?

well actually it depends on who you run into ... there are people who shoot at anything that is moving, but most of those types went to Neptune

i think Terra is much safer since Neptune is here

Neptune arriving was actually why I wanted to give NC another shot (har har, I made a pun >_>) because when you have a PVP server that's usually where all the people interested in lots of PVP go, leaving room on Terra for new people like me who don't like being randomly PKed much and mostly want to PVM and RP with a little PVP on the side.

So joining a clan straight away isn't necesarily doubleplusbad? PVP in games I'm not yet comfortably familiar with always makes me nervous.

well someone runs around now and then and trys to kill everyone but thats usually the same places everytime like CRP/CYC verry rarely someone in FA sector but they wont take long and they are removed by the local security forces

speaking of clans, i just reactivated saturday and have been looking for a new faction to join and i set my sites on FA again since that was my original faction. i've heard many good things about phoenix, are you guys recruiting, and what are some of the requirements?

oh i ment in selling vehicles ofcourse...

reqs for joining are still the same afaik.. know how to roleplay and be good trustable and be there when needed but i think your better off pming bram here on the THN or ingame.

If you want to join Phoenix, roleplaying helps but it is not a requirement. Having a good reputation (Whether it's on these forums, ingame or the offical forms) is probably the most important requirement, so if you got any previous clan employment history, please tell me. (That include's pro-city clans)

I'll accept that you are both new to the game, so you wont have the history behind you, but please do apply and we will consider you on a case by case basis. Feel free to chat to any of the Phoenix members online about the clan, as they will tell me what are like when you do apply!

There's people that pk others usualy go by two codes:

1)is it worth taking the sl hit for that char?
2)is he clanned and what mood am i in today

lol mood does it for me.. not sl hit as i never pk allies well almost ( ryan sigh 90 to -5 ) but still if i'm pissed off everything dies that says something wrong

2. are they going to run away and come back with 3 apus and 4 ppus?

Shanira, joining clans is fun but leveling up is generally easier with the LE chip still in , I guess the best time to join a clan is when you are satisfied with your knowledge of the game and happy enough with your chars survivability in the PvP world.

Or at about /50 or higher in overall rank , at which time you will find team lvling more useful for getting those last 15 or so overall rank levels.
