It is not a PvP game (yet). Basically you play a superhero, or which the customisation has possibly one of the best ever seen in any game.
After that you go around fighting crimes. Be it women getting their purses snatched to Arch-Villians trying to poison the cities water supply.
As you level you gain more powers and the ability to soup up powers, as well as influence (basically cash) and badges which is a bit more tricky to get. There are also additions and new costumes as well as creating supergroups or having a sidekick.
You also fight bigger and better things not "DOY bot renamed as new baddie".
Sheer size and content is what it is making it fun at the moment. The zones are absolutly huge. Imagine vice city as a single zone only with more height. They also use an instanced Dungeon (and in some cases zones) system. They also have portal space (like Sliders) which opens up other dimensions from magical to technical. But you have to be a fair bit high level to enter those, although I have been to portal Corp.
Game seems to be more orientated for teaming, meeting people up to fight crime. Although it is possible to solo (at least with my character it is).
I'll say straight up the game isn't for everyone. If your into op wars/PvP your probably better off holding out until next year where they will have PvP and Hero vs Villians.
.. As for my character. Hes a mage Controller. Able to...
- Teleport
- Teleport Enemy (fun dropping them off tall buildings)
- Decieve (allows control of one or more enemy)
- Blind (causes damage)
- Spectral Attack (causes serious damage)
- Heal group.
- Group invisiblity (allows people to attack)
- Self invisiblity (can't attack but almost 0 chance of detection)
Then the usual powers after that.
