A.T.M, 2Mb down 2Mb up (200Kb/s down and 200kb/s up)

Should (And i say this because I can, and shal be by 1st Feb) be getting 10Mb down and 2 Mb up so 1Mb/s down and 200Kb/s up.

Not the fastest, but the UK are cheapskates and do not want to have to replace the lines every 5 years... So they replace them every 20... And don't let us have internet connections of 60Mb down and 35Mb up... Just pisses me off...

Indeed the UK's infrastructure blows.

1 meg line, 100kb/s down 50kb/s up.

If you have 200Kbps up and down, I'm presuming you must be on SDSL ?

Normal ADSL ISP's cap off the upload @ around 30Kbps(2048(down)/256(up))
As for Cable companies, from what I've heard they seem to lower that cap to something even worse like 128K or effectively 15Kbps, coz they cheap! :D

Just once, I'd like to experience the power of the 2meg line I have. :banghead:

My Mum's - 2meg Down/256k up
My Dad's - 1meg Down/256k up

Does someone spot something wrong with this picture....

If you refering to the upload, it costs most for higher upload. The only reason our down speeds are increasing, is due to BT slowly letting people have their local exchanges unbundled and de-throttled. Hence why throughout next year, 24Mb Internet will be widely available for under £30pm! If you search for SDSL (Syncronous) Internet, just for like a 2Mb down and 2Mb up, it will cost loads more than a 2Mb ADSL with 2Mb down, and 256K up.

Nah it's not that. The fact is my parents (Who are not IT professionals like me) have more down bandwidth than me!
