Is there a firewall of some sort stopping the connections?

yea i think some firewall in the router is shutting everything down like bram said.

won't be suprised if the firewall in the router is active on highest alert setting.. thus it blocks everything exept for the base ports ( like 80 ) so he can use the internet. but everything else is shut down.

just try logging into the router and shut the firewall down ( i never have mine on.. ) or if you want to have a firewall on just make exeptions for the ports you want to use.

you can see the port neocron uses in 1 of the ini files.. dno what file it is in nc2.. just look in your ini folder.. maybe its still in the neocron.ini itself or another can't check here @ work atm.

Tell your router/modem to use your PC as a DMZ. Then install a software firewall.

Not the best for security, but it's best for just simply working :) in theory.

Sygate is good.. http://smb.sygate.com (free)

but it still blocks all programs :S its weired, we evan tryed port
forwarding but it dosent like that either, we rang up BT and they
said it was a new line of routers they just introduced. so they don't
know themselfs. thats what i call techinical help at national rates ( a load of crap). patch day is tomorow aswell lol.

Any hardware from BT will probably cause problems :p

Go buy something like a Netgear DG834, awesome bit of hardware and never failed to work for about 5 years :) only about 30 quid too. Wireless version is the DG834G, about 40 quid.

Failing that, google your current hardware model and see who else has had problems like this.
