That just sick..
what you need is this:
[root@devbox /home/shockr/progs/source/hangup #]./modem morpheous 0
Where 'morhpeous' is your IP address and the 0 is the number of times to hang your modem up

How would I go about modifying my desktop like that? I've always been fairly interested in doing something like that never have yet.

That looks like Linux J.A.M.D with the virtual desktop kind of look to it, it's really nice, good work.

There special programs for that jest, besides that you can go a long way with the windows skin system if you hack it.
Everything is pretty standart, start menu icon changed for apple, skinning of the windows and then a more intresting part, the modified toolbar, its in fact several quicklaunch toolbars mounted to the lower part of the screen, I'm intrested...how did you make it stop taking on the whole size of the screen? or is that an option of a program your using for the skins (to be honoust I haven't used programs for that since windows 98 )

No need to hack anything. Full series of programs are available to make your desktop look anyway you like. From changing core elements like the taskbar to totally removing it and using objects instead. I used to use the entire line of Windowblinds type software, but it screws up a lot of shit in the long run. Casues programs to no longer work correctly, etc.. The biggest hassle, of which i can't be bothered to fix, is the icon program available....it was acting buggy so i removed it, but in doing so, it removed most of the icons associated to certain things, so none of my pics have the right icon anymore (all have stock obj icon). Shame, as you can make your desktop look sweet.

Ahh, good thing that I use LiteStep; I really hate it when I install something useful or even cool on my system only to have it screw something critical up.
I would have posted a shot but my ISP's FTP server is acting all wonky. Time for Rackspace, I guess...

Well, I used Windowblinds 4 to get the toolbar at the top and the Mac OS X panther theme
Then used ObjectDock to get the OS X dock.
Coming soon: Linux and Windows Longhorn under XP
Edit: Here's longhorn with the Longhorn Sidebar
And the normal taskbar

As you could have read in my post, I said there where 2 options, a program ( windowblinds is by far the most used ) or use the windows skin system, if you use that last one it will save you a good deal of trouble with incompatibilitys, program crashed, and most important system slowdown.
However Microsoft protected there skin system so you can't use custom skins other than those made and certified by microsoft itself.
To use custom skins made by ordinary people you need to hack it(and any backup files) but then you have a lower resource use than windowblinds and no problems whatsoever, however it is more limited than windowblinds afaik.
Btw longhorn sucks

Hehe...
Im not that worried about losing data, so I'm quite gung-ho with PCs. I run a virus checker, screw with windows settings and h4x t3h registry. Just got a DVD+RW drive so I can backup my stuff completely....my whole PC fits onto one disk (Old PC-dual P2s and 4GB HDD)
