Around 6 months ago, a member of KK , leak'd information -

1/2 of the main points he said has become true, the 2nd we cannot test yet -

Silly armour, Necklace .... etc.. This seems dumb, but not 2 bad

THIS takes the piss -

Location'l armour resistance.

Resists from armour will only apply to the correct parts of the body.

Example. Fire vest = Strong fire CHEST only...

Remember guys, this is a Test Server not a full blown retail server. We are all used to making uber setups based on the rules from 5 years ago, which took us ages to learn and tweek.

Don't expect to learn all the new stuff in 1 hour 47 mins. :P

Again give it a chance it adds another element of stratergy and variation to the game it blows the system wide open for thousands more different setups.

Just because it's different, dosnt mean its wrong.

There's a difference stop being childish and take time to consider things, everyone wanted the game to be balanced and more of a challenge and fresh it is now, you just need to adapt to the changes, the test server has been opened for two reasons, to allow everyone to find bugs and problems with the new system as well as to adjust to it, this is why KK havnt opened the discussions on the new elements they've purposely delayed the discussion about the changes untill people are used to the new systems and have got their heads around the new systems.

The old implant and armorsystem was finely intertwined and took years to get right.

So now this john doe guy does it on paper in a few weeks, throws in random -con and -runspeed maluses here and there, leaving in OBVIOUS holes and errors.

If someone at my work handed in something like this i'd get pissed off, throw it back at him and tell him to get it right.

I was openminded about the ballancing, but seeing what kind of a botched up bugfilled job they did with the requirements and bonuses i don't think this will work. They made it too complicated.

As for the pvp itself, we'll be looking at slow paced pvp with slow aiming and people "walking". Good for the people who can't aim, but pretty boring for adrenaline rushers.

All i can say is: I don't blame Dirus for pulling his hands off this one.

If this is going to end up on retail in a working version it'll have to be redone for 60% by players, and that includes the relations of armor and imps.

p.s. Cheap way of getting around clipping and netcode issues by kk.

It would be nice if you could actually test anything on the server.

But with the damage/health bugs, you can't test anything at all.

Been keeping an eye on this, and all the people who's opinion i consider worth while have rubbished the new balance.

I was always sceptical of the balancing, seeing it as too heavy handed. But subtlety has not been KKs strong point really.

Its not just the balance, its silly things like -

Test server not done properly -

How can people test dmg/runspeed/guns/pvp balance when :

Weapons randomly have insane dmg outputs

"Revenge/RoLh"

GM Scripts messed up, and left un cleaned-

There is a PE running around atm, with 100 base dex/con/strength/psi/int.

Also, around 2000 dex points extra....

YES, i did play with this, and yes i deleted the day it got patched, and KK Asked evey1 to deleted them -

i had a SPY with 100 PSI... using a holy s/d and fire apoc...

kk_silentium didnt find it funny.... meh

and a Devils Grave PE :D

I seriously believe that 2.2 MAY be a big hit. By a big hit, I mean it won't make the small amount of community left quit. Face it guys, this game has taken a big blow as in 1/2 the community leaving just based on the test server.

Does this tell us something? It didn't take me 1 hour and 47 minutes to figure out, it took me 5 minutes, 15 to take a shit, 3 to eat, and 4 to laugh it off a bit. For a total of 27 minutes and me being full of laughing shit.

162 largely fixed the runspeed issue (though the wide range of ath negatives still plagues it). Previously skill would go negative (though they would display as zero), meaning crippling effects to runspeed and stamina.

Now DJ has more sta than on retail (and looses it at about the same speed) and runs only a fraction slower (160 odd agl, 0 ath).

Oh and there probably will be a patch next week....
