wondering...(Q. bout ingame matters)

What todays expected attack damages will be. (PvP)
Working a bit on my tank, reworking his resists 'n stuff, and when I came to the point of poison, I wondered how big this was right now, many devourers out there? or monks using poison? Or is it more or less neglectable?

Any mind notes about this are apreciated :)

when i still played it still wasn't used that much @ all :) so thats in dec when i did my last op wars.. a few poison stacks.. i used holy pest ( rare barrel ;x ) myself @ op wars but kinda because i din't have a holy thunder or firestorm..

on killer the only por resist i got is +15 or so from my FH2 and the +15 or so i got from my resist buff... i can stand a few stacks of the holy poison beam.. and i could level in uhm swamp caves i think it was ( jet took me there to recap after 1 of my 120 hack goes :p ) just pop on a VKA for extra protection and if you would add a belt ( i din't ) to that.. you can hunt in most poison places ( don't try graves tho thats a deadtrap without a ppu with antipoison )

Well a tank theoretically can spare out enough for average poison resist, can't use belts and the vka is only a small addition, If poison is used on most op wars then a tank can't do withoud protection for it (where talking not ppu supported here btw). On the other hand, I can lift out a 50ish amount of points for other uses if I choose to ignore it. You see my dilemma ;)

Don't suppose there are (active...) experienced gentanks around here with a good oppinion on this matter?

side question, I bet those resist boosters are still not working?

por aint used alot in op wars :) i think main thing why it has no rare beam.. ( @ least afaik :p ) prob the most things you will find used by monks are still the fire apoc and HL.. and since poison stacks are gone after a zone nowadays ( @ least afaik again ) its rarely used.. tho as you said your a tank.. so you can spare a few points in it.. but don't go above 50 in any way.. and yea vka doesn't give alot.. but as i said on killer i always pulled off with 30 por resist and my own heal.. only dif is my heal is capped a tank's heal aint ;)

true thing, lucky I have more health then :p my nc1 5 slot heal spell was close to cap though :x but runcast is out of question, no time to cast the spell in the middle of the fight, will only cut down my chances.

well, I'll check out my options a little more, aslong as nobody else wants to reply.

Ive prettymuch got my tanks con sorted, fought SSX lastnight at ememrson ;) aswell as like 15 FF at cycrow.

Ive gone back to HC tho, so my aim's a little shoddy atm only had 2 days practice at it. But me + cannings = lotsa dead ppls tbh...

unbuffed i cap xray (for a tank) aswell as capping energy and fire, plus 70 poison. ive got 494 HP unbuffed, get about 568 with haz/melee3


Just need one of u fa type guys to like get me a exp leg :p

best armourcombo for resists is PA3/Inq4helm/MediumBelt/Inq4Pants/HeavyDuraBoots
Work on your CON from there, As ive got my zarg belt Im wearing a different vest

Been calculating when to go for health and when to go for resist, as I'm working on non ppu supported I get different results then you do, I work with non ppu supported because who I used to fight with, never had a ppu around, still with a ppu I should be rather dangerous at cap. :p

got 77 poison (incl fh2) right now. The other resists just above 70% damage reduction .

That, I figured out pretty soon (somewhere early in 2003) already :x

question still remains weither I should up my health/resists at the cost of poison or not, perhaps I'll just see how it ends up when I cap.

i think 77 is alot for a tank but fenix is the tank guy here ;) but on killer i survived with more then half that.. hell 77 comes closer to his energy and xray resists :p + a tank can wear better armor overall.. cut on the por just a few points and put them somewere they are harder needed.

Bleh.

Not sure really, I spec enough to cap energy and fire with a mix of duranium 4 and inq4, Xray is heavily specced cos everyone and thier mate seems to have an Xrayed ROG these days, and a few extra points whanged in poison to give me 45 total, if I'm at an op war I have been known to go with VK armour on rather than PA especially with the UPS monkfest.

EDIT - and whats the dealio with the zarg belts, gimme the frikkin run already =/

As far as i remember there seem to be a soft cap (or flip point, hovewer u call it) around 70 points in poison. Putting more in poison didnt get any noticeable effect for me.

On the other hand, most people still dont spec poison at all (or very little) so its a weak point. My clanmember recently has changed his setup on his apu hybrid and due to that he cant use HL effectively, so he started to fight with poison beam and surprisingly enough he havent loose even one fight so far. Most people are so surprised with his attack tactic that they dont know what to do or how to react :P Most people also (except spies maybe) dont use antidotes and it seems simple heal is not enough for a good poison attack. So its worth to have a decent poison resists if possible, and in case of tanks, its perfectly manageable
