incase you are wondering why you have not seen me in game recently, or maybe you haven't noticed in that case you're all bastards

But i am now down at uni and the student net connection in my hall room has a bitch of a firewall blocking all ports

I have been trying to get a Proxy tunnel sorted out to get NC2 running but so far i am struggling in understanding how to do this.

Desperate to get back on :banghead:

But at least i seem to be missing the rollbacks.

I'm not ingame much either, but I miss you none the less

No idea how to get neocron going trough a proxy...
Perhaps its possible to find a port that is not blocked with an online port scanner and then tell neocron in neocron.ini to use that port instead, though I'm affraid not all ports can be used :/

Method: Find some nice kind person with *nix box and ask them to run a bouncer (BNC will do) for you. Set it to port 80 and to forward to the neocron server. et voila.

You connect out on port 80 to kind persons server, that routes to neocron.

Granted, you may not get an amazing connection, but what more do you want?

Are you directly conected to uni from halls - or is it just a free net connection provided by uni?

We had a free connection provided - but free sockets for landlines - We got bT to install an ADSL line and got a 1 meg between 6 of us. Came out to about a tenner each for a month.

My only option is to sniff out an unsecure wireless network, and I somewhat doubt they'll be one in the quiet area of Dundee I'm living in

It's a pity you don't live near London. I know a guy who drove around the M25 and he picked up on one unsecure wireless network after another.

That's one thing I gotta find - The software to be able to sniff UWNs.

THe uni provide this program but no instructions on how to use it properly just some notes and i have no idea what to do.
