Have you seen any??

Is KK worried that if they advertise then their servers will not be able to handle a population explosion?

With DoY release coming on the 1st September, or there abouts, what are KK doing about marketing it.
Even seasoned NC gamers I know are not sure if it is a downloadable or boxed retail product.
I was reading a PC mag today that has a whole section on current and forthcomming MMORPGs including sections on Warhammer, L2, Star wars, CoHs etc. Was NC or DoY mentioned, was it fuck.

Does anyone know when this marketing drive will kick in, and, if it already about,in what form has it taken.

I love NC and enjoy playing alongside the peeps I have met since joining. I would hate for DoY to be a massive flop and everyone I have played alongside for months now to dissapear to other games.

If anyone knows anything or has an opinion on the matter lemmie know.

Apparantly there is a publishing company that published nc on cds way back. No advertising- kk were unimpressed, so they are publishing doy themselves.
It would seem that they are advertising too... so they say. haven't seen an ad yet.

(Mcdonalds, HP, DFS, Sun Microsystems, HSBC, NC2? ah don think so.)

Apart from the adverts and competitions on 2 of the main MMORPG web sites I haven't seen anything.

PC Gamer does not list it on their forthcoming games and in their Net Gamer section there has been no mention of it either....

Do we think they will hit the September 1st deadline? I am not so sure, and why have they not posted any information about how the Beta is progressing.........

But then again FOMK is very quiet, apart from the recent trailer and some info from Beta 2, so maybe there is nothing to worry about

Is that this months PC Gamer? I tried to buy it yesterday and WHSmiths did not have it. Will check today...

Got the magazine, no mention on the DVD or in the mag. Will have to have a look at the DVD contents when I get home later...

Lots of info about Anarchy Online, Warcraft etc. in the MMORPG section, not one article or even mention of NC... :mad:

well if you look at the other mmorpg's usualy listed, they either have a sucesfull background or are yet unkown and add something special.

When neocron just got out it got attention, but with a lack of marketing that attention was never put to good use later.
Now with the sequel its not as intresting anymore and magazine owners are in doubt weither an article about it would sell.
I think reakktor wants to 'watch the cat out of the tree' (dutch expression soz) before they go to the press bigtime... or not go to the press at all if its to flawed once more.

One way or the other, for good marketing they will wait after the first reactions from the current community, after that they could, depending on the outcome, go for some more attention out to the public.
