THN server move (Completed)

Hi everyone,

The more eagled eye users of the THN will have probably noticed that the server that the THN is hosted on is going to move. This is due to our hosting provider Pipex choosing to close the Nottingham data centre and move all the servers to Leeds. Since most of the System Adminstrators of this server live in the South of the UK, it was decided to move the server to London to a new co-lo hosting provider.

The new server is going live today, and once it is configured to host the THN, I will have the grand job of moving the website and data to the new server. The move date has not been set, but as soon as I know I will post it here. The date will be within the next 2 weeks.

There is a minor side effect to moving to different hosting providers, and that is the IP address will change. You will still access the THN as normal, using http://www.techhaven.org/ however, it may take a few hours or in some cases, a few days for the DNS servers to catch up with the new IP address.

When the server move takes place, I will also post to the official forums as well.

Since we have moved to the new server ahead of schedule, there should be no further downtime for the server move.
