Connection Issues.....

Postby Zelig » Sat Oct 16, 2004 4:34 pm

Alright, I got Neocron 2 and such, and have played it until Thursday around 2 am EST (Addicted....I'm new to this :)

Anyway....on Friday afternoon I tried logging in.....
It seems it's not "synchronizing" as it used to and then I'd be logged in.
I'm getting a black screen which I can't get rid of unless I used the Window's favorite tool, ctrl + alt + delete.

I'm just asking, how do I get by this? Maybe it's related to my router since I am sharing my connection with the rest of my family....Yet again I've fixed this before, but I just let it sit and it'd just randomly come on. I hate to do it but logging in now is like playing yahtzee......

If you have any input/output/sideways put (Ever wonder why there's none of that?) just give me a general idea of what I need to do to log back in.

Serverside status is :

no idea what kind of router you have and how it handles routing procedures, but what I would do is force neocron's client port directly to your own IP adres, from there on, there shouldn't be any problems other than related to your pc directly.

default is port: 20999 (I think, you can always specify it in the neocron.ini file to be sure - add or change LOCALPORT = "20999" )

Yeah, I got it fixed Husk, thanks for the response.....

Strange enough it must have been my ISP acting up. The SP2 pack allows me to open ports at will now, so I am alright.

Now, this problem is just something I can get around, but....still a slight problem:

My proxy keeps disconnecting me from Neocron 2 whenever it changes and I synchonize to a new area. In a combat situation (PvP mostly) that's bad....

I'd appreciate it if you happen to know how I can disenable proxy changing when playing Neocron 2, to summarize it :P

Turn off the Windows firewall and get Sygate Personal- much better, and it might even help with the zoning issue. Does it say "Join proxy session failed"? I had that for 3 years- turning off LAN and using a USB modem apparently fixes it, but... you probably don't wanna do that. :)

Apart from that, try reinstalling, reformatting, selling your soul to Microsoft or sending chocolate to Reakktor. Or poke about in Internet Options (IE -> Tools -> Internet Options)
